About the project
The owners had a carved timber surround they'd carried between three houses and never found a wall for. We built them one — reframed it, squared it up, and made it the centre of the living room.
Behind it sits a hand-applied teal limewash, layered on site until the depth was right. The rest of the remodel — kitchen carpentry, feature panelling, and rewiring — was done around a family still living in the house.
